What´s up with all these game-forum threads ???
They should be taken away from WC as they are not what WC-threads should be about at all, taking up forum space and are irritating in general for us Wincustomizers
In the My Replies section there is a dropdown to select WC or all sites. Can that feature be added to Recent Posts? Then we could choose to show or hide any sites other than WC.
Just a thought.
I wouldn't worry about the new topics, WinCustomites have already hijacked them
Yeah, some kind of option to hide \ block unwanted threads from most recent would be welcome, for me anyway.
The main thing I dont like, regardless of how you sort or use the forum is, The MAIN WC front page is always populated with these nonsense game threads. It irritates me to no end and more recently has turned me off even 'hanging out' here. Wears on me, so to speak.
Imo there is a place for these kind of threads, they don't really hurt anyone, but, showing up on the front page, to me at least, is something that should be remedied.
John...
There is no point objecting.
There is no point in commenting.
This is part of an intricate plan to force you to skin more.
Resistance is futile.
i disagree with you jaf....first time ever.......shock horror!!
we should be able to turn off those posts or have them removed (last time there was a major uproar and we got it removed)
i disagree that every skinner is a gamer and vice verser, so i can come into sins of the solar empire with an wb skinning question and will get an answer in under half an hour?........ very unlikely. People will think im a retard and tell me to go back to wc and post it there.
the main thing that is bothering the majority of us, is that this new secting called "everything else" is basically already swamping the wc forums recent activity and it makes it hard for us to navigate to something we either want to read, respond to, or find someone to help with a skinning question.
surely you can see it from our point of view?
Common sense:
-Threads that arent posted by Wincustomizers or isn´t about stuff relevant to The WC-community should be gone or we should have an easy fix to have them filtered away.
ditto for Vamps and neone6.
How do we discern what's relevant to the WC community? What you consider relevant, maybe I don't. There have been posts about things that I don't feel have anything to do with this site, the recent death of Harry Morgan being one of them (not having a go at you, Doc, just using it as an example .) The thread didn't bother me, but you're talking about things being relevant, and to me, that wasn't. So where do we draw the line in the sand?
it would be nice to be able to filter catagories such as over on the WC site. not all posts would be relevant anyhow but...
Isn't the whole point of Last person to post wins, unless they are a moderator or admin. a Sins of a Solar Empire Forums thread that's popping up here to be LOCKED by the mods? I mean, that's the entire purpose of the thread is overpost and keep bumping it until a mod gets annoyed enough to lock it thus creating a 'winner'?
Has it been established which forums are upset over the cross posting or is WinCustomize standing all alone? Just asking.
Oh, and is it just the cross posting or meaningless threads in general?
Sorry, but this is not really a big deal. There's not going to be a feature to remove posts put in, and the posts from another forum are minor in comparison to everything else. There's a ton of things I want fixed and added to this site, a couple forum posts from "gamers" is at the very bottom of importance on my list.
Here's the WC talk area filled with a bunch of posts not really related to skinning or WC. That's what a general forum is for, for general things.
Here is the most recent list:
Two threads of "everything else" is not something to get a wad about. Everything else is general postings, so it's going to stay.
wow, gmc2 that's a great idea, I wonder if it will catch on???
Part of the job is news. Granted, this wasn't WC news... but some old timers felt it meant something.... the patriotic posts, family matters, health, birthdays etc. all come with that.
However, those things are what really makes a community a community and more than just a group with a common interest in GUI graphics.
That's completely subjective. "One man's Mede is another's Persian."
Learning to use and take advantage of Forums' multiple possible avenues of approach is a good thing.
What site are you logged on to? Surely you don't mean WC?
