(If this has been answered somewhere else I haven't seen it)

There's no information about an update for IP for Windows 10 right now.

Ok Boss, that's really sad as it's such a loved piece of software.

May one ask why there isn't an effort to make this popular program work for Windows 10 ?

It was never even certified for Windows 8 Andy.

It works fine on both my Win 8 machines but from what I understand if I try to uninstall it itll  screw everything up.

A very sad state of affairs.  Another disappointment.  Another mystery not to be answered.

It wasn't, but it was still working kindof slabdash, Now however as I understand it is totally incompatible so now would be the perfect time to update such a popular program.

It should never have been certified with anything at all!

I am sure that Island Dog, Neil Banfield and others concerned read this post and they're not going to bother to get further into this as long as there is nothing to report, however theyre'not stupid, Of course they talk about this amongst themselves and hopefully we will have something popping up in the forums futurewise if there is enough interest and if it is viable to produce such an extensive update.

-Don't lose faith in Stardock !

This really illustrates the concept of "code rot"... as OS software and machine hardware advance (and they're both doing that quickly) programs seem to 'slow down' and cause more and more problems.

The solution up until now has been to have more and more coders working at keeping programs 'current' and as functional as the OS allows. Small companies find that very hard to do as they have to remain profitable in order to just that.

Now, MIT and Adobe (think - Photoshop the industry gold standard legacy program) are working together to create a new concept..."Helium" which is "self healing/self optimizing" software...nice for the future, but this is here and now.

Back to the real world: Stardock created many apps to address the demand for customization. That demand has fallen off, while paradoxically W10 is far uglier than the usual OS, and to make it more secure, more portions are "hard coded" and not 'accessible' to modification. To find 'work arounds' and 'fix' the software to work with the new OS and new chip architectures, takes time. Had IP been 'fixed' for W7, it wouldn't carry over to W10 (which will continue to be W10, but be periodically updated and 'evolve').

So, to 'fix everything' at this point would require man hours which have to be covered/paid somehow...the gaming side of SD...which also requires manpower/devs/artists/QA, and coordination of all this determines priorities...because customization is declining, the site and software priorities are coming secondary to the gaming side, which more and more supports us.

This is the reality. None of us loves this reality, but there it is. Forbearance and patience are a plus, because really, nothing else will help.

to be honest, whats the point of using windowblinds if you cant use iconpackager or cursor fx with it? i dont want a sweet looking skin but be forced to use lame windows default icons and cursors lol, i havent even upgraded yet to windows 10, and i wont until all the stardock products are compatible fully, not beta i just hope that doesnt take 2 years......
